Federico Carra was born in Rome in 1970, he studied computer science, music, multimedia communication and has been dealing with projects of contamination and integration between art, technology and the third sector for over twenty five years. In the 1990s he worked on various video soundtracks, exhibitions and events and, as an author, producer and musician on the musical project Douar Djedid with which he won various competitions including ArezzoWave in 96 and Enzimi 96 and 97 and performed throughout Italy and Switzerland . From the late nineties he began to collaborate as an actor, musician and technician with Antonio Rezza and Flavia Mastrella, the song "Mahagonny" of the Groovement project became the backbone of the film "Delitto sul Po". Since 2000 he has dealt with graphics, audio-video post-production and DVD authoring as a freelancer, in the AmisNet Agency, in the companies EcomondPress and Minerva Pictures and with his own company Kiwido working for the major companies in the sector including 01 Distribution, Istituto Luce, Mediaset, L'Espresso - National Geographic, Rai Trade, Sony-BMG Music Entertainment, RaroVideo. Since 2006, with Kiwido he has created editorial proposals and events between video-art, social and experimental cinema such as the books and DVDs of Antonio Rezza and Flavia Mastrella, Paolo Gioli and Antonello Branca and the video catalog Prospettiva Mobile for the Italian National Institute of Graphics with considerable feedback on the major information publications. The projects are distributed across Europe and North America. In co-production with the duo Rezza-Mastrella he realizes the documentary Il passato è il mio bastone - The past is my stick, presented at the Venice Days of the 65th Venice Film Festival. Since 2009 he works with the Ass. Il Ponte Magico in workshops, theatrical performances, re-insertion projects with prisoners and ex-prisoners, in 2011 he created the cd D-Jail with the texts of the prisoners and his own music and by Maurizio Catania, in 2017 he became President of the Association and continues in the conception and implementation of internal and external projects in prison in partnership with the Ministry of Justice, the Lazio Region, Coop Edi (Save the Children), Coop E'co, Ilde Sonora (with the radio project Ponte Radio aired on Rai Radio 3 and Radio Radicale). The projects and events receive the support and funding of several municipalities, the Lazio region, the European Union and Unicri (United Nations). Since 2011 he has been making videos including the documentary series on immigration Piani Migranti, a video and a DVD on the Madrigalisti di Magliano in Toscana for La Città Visibile 2013 - Fondazione Grosseto Cultura, the Arti ... in Corso service on the homonymous gallery in Magliano in Toscana aired on Rai 3. Since 2012 he has been offering concerts, performances, DJ sets and vj sets, on his own, in projects with migrants, refugees and asylum seekers Kermesse, SuperGriots and Dunia, with concerts in Italy Switzerland and Germany, visuals for musical groups and in the show on migrations Exodus of Ashai Lombardo Arop and recently participates in the reggae-dub reworking project of songs by Fabrizio DeAndré DeAndrèggae with concerts in clubs and festivals and in support of Amnesty International, refugees, disabled people, such as the Disabilty Pride in Piazza del Popolo, Rome. |
